True Copy
True copy is a copy of the original document. It is certified by the authorized person that it is the exact copy of the primary document.
A true copy is a copy of a primary document, that has on it an endorsement or certificate that it is a true copy of the primary document.
Please not that the certified copy is equivalent to a certified copy. A true copy may be required for official government or court purposes and for commercial purposes. As an example it is a standard procedure in the process of naturalization that certified copies of Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate are requested along with a true copy of theirs translation.
A true copy avoids the owner of important documents giving up possession of those documents which might mean a risk of their loss or damage. The true copy is signed by an authorized by law person - solicitor.
